Wounded Warrior Project - Project Odyssey

Vin DiCarlo Inc. helps men build their self-confidence and learn how to interact effectively with women. In addition to helping men grow more confident, Vin DiCarlo Inc.uses an innovative system called Pandora’s Box, which owner Vin DiCarlo grew to become the most widely used relationship-engineering technology in recent years. Outside of his leadership role at the company, Mr. DiCarlo remains active in charitable giving and donates to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).

WWP assists military service men and women who experienced a physical or mental injury or illness as a result of their service on or after September 11, 2001. One of the project’s many programs that help wounded service personnel during their recovery is Project Odyssey.

Named after Homer’s poem about surmounting obstacles and returning home, Project Odyssey uses outdoor activity to help service members with their physical and mental recoveries. By engaging in a diverse array of activities, from horseback riding and kayaking to rock climbing and fishing, participants learn to cope with combat stress while connecting with nature and their peers.

Participants can choose from a five-day retreat for individuals or a five-day couples’ retreat that helps rebuild trust in relationships adversely affected by combat stress. Lastly, WWP offers a retreat for those recovering overseas at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) in Germany.
